Workflow 06 · Fuentas guide
Explore citations and connections
Citation discovery is available from the Mac app and can help you follow a research conversation. Its results depend on the selected source’s coverage, so an empty result is not proof that no citations exist.
Choose a direction on Mac
In the Mac app, select a reference and choose Find Citations. Publications That Cite This moves forward from the paper; References Cited by This looks back through its bibliography. Related-publication recommendations are a separate feature and use a different relationship.
Read the coverage and filters
Review the selected source and its visible coverage information. Apply filters to narrow results, and use Load More when the list is paginated. If a request fails, retry after checking your connection.
- Coverage varies by source, field, and publication record.
- A source can omit citations that exist elsewhere.
- Treat suggested connections as leads to inspect.
Bring a result into your library
Use the import preview to inspect records and possible matches before adding any result. Confirm the details against the publication record when accuracy matters.
