Read and annotate PDFs

Open the reading view

Select a reference, then choose Read. Attach a PDF to the reference if one is not already available. The reference and document stay connected so you can move between publication details and the text.

Search and mark a passage

Use search to find text in the open PDF. Highlight a passage when you want to return to it, and add a page note for your own interpretation, question, or next step.

• Use a note to capture why a passage matters, not only what it says.
• Open Notes or Highlights to revisit an item and return to its page.
• Check the page number and nearby context before using a passage in your writing.

Understand file availability

A missing PDF or a file that has not transferred yet has a visible state in Fuentas. If a cloud attachment is still transferring, wait for it or open a device where it is available. Keep a separate backup of important documents.
