Workflow 01 · Fuentas guide

Start a library

A library is the home for your references, notes, collections, and attached files. Start with a local library, or choose iCloud when you want to connect that library to your Apple account.

Choose a location that fits the project

When you create a library, choose its location and give it a name that will make sense in the Finder and in Fuentas. A local library stays on that device. An iCloud library uses your Apple account and can be opened on your other devices after its data is available there.

  • Choose Local for a library that stays on this device.
  • Choose iCloud when you want to use Fuentas’ optional private iCloud sync.
  • You can use a local library without connecting iCloud.

Know which library is open

Fuentas shows the active library and its environment in the app. Check this before adding or moving work, especially when you keep separate libraries for different projects or when switching between local and iCloud.

Open an existing library

If you already have a .fuentaslib package, use Fuentas’ open-library flow to choose it. Keep a backup copy before moving a library between locations or devices. Do not edit files inside the package in Finder.

Fuentas is in beta. Some details may change as workflows are refined. Ask a question or request a beta invitation.
